Lockdown Pizza Kits

My name is David, my friends call me Finn.

I have been making sourdough wood fired pizza since 2016, before that I worked as a chef for about 7 years. For all of my pizza years I have been serving freshly baked sourdough wood fired pizza from my converted van, piping hot, to humans within 2 meters of the van. Simpler times.

The business was being adapted before lockdown kicked in, I had gone card only, I was offering pre-orders and collection services, all that stuff. But when my regular pitches at a pub in Worksop (Fuggles Chapter One) and some local Caravan and Motorhome Club sites (Clumber Park and Poolsbrook) disappeared over a 48hr period I had to go back to the drawing board.

Delivery Pizza Kits is where I ended up, I had built up extra stock in anticipation of supplier disruption and thought I would give it a try, if the uptake was poor, at least the stock would get used.

It turned out that people really loved them! I was getting great feedback, customers wanted to re-order for the next week, great stuff. But that meant I had to really get organised, week 1 was pretty improvised on the packaging and people were getting eco-friendly coffee cups full of toppings as its all I had.

A few weeks later and I'm delivering to a pretty large area, split over two days (Thursday near Worksop, Saturday near Mansfield) and the pizza van is moonlighting as a delivery van with a chimney. But sorting through orders was a bit of a mess, so I have set up this replacement website as an online store so customers can order at a convenient time.

Hope the site works and people like it, I should be able to improve it as I go.
